American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with NICU and delivery room experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in an acute care NICU setting.

Acute care NICU setting with coverage of Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Neonatal patient population
-
Equipment includes Dräger ventilators, bubble CPAP, and Fisher & Paykel 850 HHFNC (high-flow nasal cannula)

Epic EMR used in this position
-
12-hour night shifts, 1800–0630
-
Every other weekend requirement
-
Holiday coverage may be required depending on scheduling needs
-
Standby call required during low census with a 30-minute response time
-
No floating required
-
Hospital scrubs provided
-
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
-
NICU and delivery room experience required
-
RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) required; CRT not accepted
-
Active and current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT verification
-
Experience with bubble CPAP required
-
Active state or compact (NLC) license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted — license required if applicable

2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Travelers assist with intubation but do not intubate independently
-
Responsibilities include running blood gases and performing EKGs on rare occasions
-
NNP (Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) is in-house support; department is currently managed by a single manager
-
When census is very low, one RT may be on call rather than in-house
-
Department-specific orientation is provided (12 hours)

COVID vaccine is required for this position

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
