American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of NICU experience for a night shift travel assignment in a hospital NICU setting in Washington state.

Hospital-based NICU unit with potential floating to other campuses within the state
-
Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
-
Patient load of approximately 5 ventilators and 6-8 RVUs per shift
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00

Weekend coverage is variable
-
Floating to other facilities within the state is expected; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Pulmonary Function Test Lab experience preferred but not required
-
Required ventilator experience: Draeger and Servo I
-
Airway management responsibilities include intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy/suctioning, nasal and oral airway placement, and sputum specimen collection
-
Medication administration includes Nitric Oxide (iNO), inhaled Flolan, racemic epinephrine, Albuterol, Atrovent, Mucomyst, Tobramycin, and other respiratory medications
-
Nebulizer types include cold, heated, handheld, ultrasonic, T-piece, and trach collar
-
Ventilator management includes BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency oscillator, flow-by, weaning, and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms

Epic EMR required
-
Active RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential required
-
Current WA state respiratory therapy license required if applicable
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required; NICU experience is required

Adult Critical Care, ED, PICU, and Peds setting experience required
-
Experience with Draeger and Servo I ventilators required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Proficiency in ABG interpretation and basic EKG
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS
-
Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Active professional license required at time of consideration

Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

PICU experience requirement has been waived by the manager; NICU experience is the primary requirement
-
Perform airway management, ventilator management, and respiratory medication administration for critically ill patients
-
Scrubs: any color accepted

Minimal RTO is preferred; significant time-off requests may impact placement
-
Any RTO or scheduling requests must be communicated prior to submission, as post-offer requests may be denied
