Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric critical care experience for a night shift position at an academic medical center in Oklahoma City, OK.

Details

  • Inpatient respiratory care department at an academic medical center
  • Pediatric patient population
  • 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week
  • 26-week contract
  • Prior experience in a children's-only hospital is preferred

Requirements

  • Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
  • RRT credential required (must be obtained within 12 months of hire if not already held)
  • Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Oklahoma (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of respiratory care experience; 2+ years in a critical care setting preferred
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • ACLS certification from AHA required (must be obtained within 3 months of hire if not already held)
  • AHA-issued certifications only accepted
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff and document patient responses in the computerized medical record
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
  • Serve as a resource person to medical staff and provide age-appropriate respiratory care
  • Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
  • Travelers who have previously worked at this facility may extend only once, for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before becoming eligible for a subsequent contract
  • Compliance requirements are strictly enforced; candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon booking
