American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a day shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital's pediatric unit.

Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds

Pediatric, neonatal, and infant patient population

Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Every other weekend required

Holiday rotation required

Floating within scope may be required depending on experience; no floating to sister facilities

No on-call required

Charting via Epic (experience preferred)

Caribbean Blue scrubs required

Current RRT certification (NBRC)

Valid South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license required — license must be active and in hand at time of start

BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required — AHA certifications only

Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy

Pediatric, neonatal, and infant clinical experience required
-
SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

License required if applicable

First-time travelers are accepted for this position

Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on manager and unit needs

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
-
Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
-
Orientation modules are completed prior to start date

During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
-
Parking is free on day shifts; a one-time $20 parking pass fee applies for nights and weekends
