Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric experience for a day shift position at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital's pediatric unit.

Details

  • Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital with 865 staffed beds
  • Pediatric, neonatal, and infant patient population
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Floating within scope may be required depending on experience; no floating to sister facilities
  • No on-call required
  • Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
  • Caribbean Blue scrubs required

Requirements

  • Current RRT certification (NBRC)
  • Valid South Carolina Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) license required — license must be active and in hand at time of start
  • BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required — AHA certifications only
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy
  • Pediatric, neonatal, and infant clinical experience required
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
  • License required if applicable

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC facility must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission; approval is based on manager and unit needs
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Orientation modules are completed prior to start date
  • During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
  • Parking is free on day shifts; a one-time $20 parking pass fee applies for nights and weekends
