American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in a short-term acute care setting.

Short-term acute care hospital with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital

RRT unit serving both adult and pediatric patients, including ICU settings
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:00

Every other weekend required

Holiday coverage is required; only 1 holiday off may be approved per contract
-
Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on staffing needs
-
No on-call requirement

Block scheduling is not available

Charting is done in Epic
-
Scrub color requirement: solid black or black and white

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
-
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
Comfort and experience working with both adult and pediatric patients, including ICU populations
-
Active state or compact RRT license required at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted — license required if applicable

BLS certification required (standard for RRT positions)

Epic EMR experience required

SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position

Provide respiratory therapy services to adult and pediatric patients in ICU and other acute care settings

Pre-start orientation modules are required (approximately 4–10 hours)

RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days per contract period, subject to manager's discretion
-
Any missed scheduled shifts may require a makeup shift at the department's discretion
-
Former employees or travelers must have been away from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
-
Travelers on night shift may extend up to twice before being required to be away for a minimum of 6 months prior to returning
