Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift, 13-week contract at a large Level 1 Trauma hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Details

  • 500+ bed hospital with Level 1 Pediatric and Adult Trauma and Burn designations
  • Respiratory Care unit supporting adult medical, trauma/neuro, burn, and cardiovascular critical care units, as well as the Emergency Department
  • Night shift: 18:45–07:15
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
  • RRT credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
  • Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner license required (license required if applicable)
  • BLS required; must be AHA or American Red Cross
  • High school diploma with 2 years of cumulative experience, OR Associate's/Technical degree, OR 4 years of applicable cumulative experience
  • ACLS preferred; must be AHA or American Red Cross
  • NRP and NRP Advanced preferred; must be AHA/AAP
  • PALS preferred; must be AHA or American Red Cross
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment with minimal supervision
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
  • Two professional references required for consideration
  • Copy of Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Assess patients and develop individualized respiratory care plans based on diagnosis and clinical need
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment; perform advanced respiratory care modalities
  • Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomes
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions and available community support resources
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes
  • Follows Standard Precautions and uses appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a reduced pay rate based on a facility radius rule
