Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a 13-week night shift contract in an acute care setting.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting in a Respiratory Care Department
  • Responds to all care areas including pre- and post-surgical units and the ED
  • Responds to rapid response and code blue calls
  • Patients across all age groups
  • 12-hour night shifts, 1800–0630
  • Every other weekend night shift required
  • No call required
  • MEDITECH EMR

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant respiratory therapy experience
  • Current RRT credential
  • Active state or compact (NLC) licensure — license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
  • Current certifications required (pending not accepted): BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS
  • Proficiency in nebulizer administration and ventilator management
  • Ability to work independently and provide proper patient assessment and treatment recommendations
  • 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
  • Driver's license required — used to verify permanent address is at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Candidates must not currently be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity

Additional Information

  • Provide general respiratory care services across multiple care areas including surgical and emergency settings
  • Must be knowledgeable and competent in meeting the needs of patients across all age groups
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to remove will result to contract termination
  • Candidates who were directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
  • Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for this position
