American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of acute care experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in an adult respiratory therapy department.

Acute care hospital setting with float coverage across all units including ER, PCU, MedSurg, and ICU
-
Primary adult patient population with potential pediatric exposure in the ER
-
Common diagnoses include acute/chronic respiratory failure, pneumonia, flu, COVID, post-open heart surgery, CHF, COPD, and critical/ventilated patients
-
Caseload is point-based and typically ranges from 6–12 patients depending on unit assignment
-
EMR: Meditech; medication dispensing via Pyxis

Equipment includes Draeger and V500 Draeger vents, Hamilton LTV transport vents, A and B Oscillators, P Newton neonatal pneumatic vent, and V60 BiPAP machines
-
12-hour night shifts (1800–0630)

36 hours per week

Weekend rotation varies based on unit needs; back-to-back or consecutive weekend scheduling is possible

No on-call requirements

Holiday coverage expected for approximately 50% of holidays during the contract

RTO requests must be approved by the manager

RRT credential required; CRT not accepted

Minimum 2 years of acute care experience

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS
-
Proficiency with vent management, BiPAP/non-invasive ventilation, high-flow O2, intubation assistance, bedside bronchoscopies, and trach insertion and care
-
Ability to make independent clinical judgments and work autonomously
-
Comfort responding to rapid responses, traumas, and codes
-
Last 4 digits of SSN and date of birth (month and day) required for consideration

Will not be required to float to the Children's unit unless comfortable doing so

NICU experience is preferred but not required

Night shift team consists of 7 RRTs plus 5 PRN RRTs; days team has 9 RRTs
-
Support includes a Lead Tech, 24/7 Hospitalist coverage, and 24/7 Intensivist coverage
-
Rapid response and code coverage is shared among staff; the RRT assigned to the ER serves as the primary responder
-
Orientation consists of a facility NEO followed by 3–4 shifts of unit-specific orientation across various departments

Schedule is made in 6-week increments and released several weeks in advance
-
