Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of experience for a night shift position at a 70-bed hospital in Portland, ME.

Details

  • Work in the Respiratory Therapy department of a 70-licensed-bed hospital in Portland, ME
  • Night shift hours: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • May float between NICU, pediatric, and adult units — details discussed during interview
  • Weekend rotation required — details discussed during interview
  • On-call required — details discussed during interview
  • Holiday coverage expected — details discussed during interview
  • EMR: Cerner (Pyxis also in use)
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
  • Maine (ME) state license or compact license required — license required if applicable
  • Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles South/SW of the facility to be eligible
  • Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
  • 2 professional references within the past year required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge nurse acceptable; peer references not accepted)
  • Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
  • Flu vaccination required for clearance

Additional Information

  • Manager interviews are conducted prior to placement
  • Orientation length is dependent on individual skillset and experience
  • Support structure includes Respiratory Department Leadership, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and intensivist available for consult 24/7
  • Patient types and required skills will be discussed during the interview
  • RTO requests require manager approval and must be submitted at the time of consideration
  • No specific scrub color requirement — any color is acceptable
  • Free parking is available on site
  • Medical exemptions for the flu vaccination are accepted and subject to facility review; a minimum of 2 weeks must be allowed for the approval process
