American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 3 years of academic medical center experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in Albany, NY, with Epic EMR experience required.

Inpatient Respiratory Therapy department at an academic medical center
-
Adult and pediatric critical care patient population; neonatal patient exposure is desirable
-
Experience with both inter- and intra-hospital patient transport is expected

Epic EMR — experience required
-
Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend required

Rotating holiday coverage required

Active NYS Respiratory Therapist License with an up-to-date CE profile and free of disciplinary action required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)

Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (minimum Associate Degree)

Minimum 3 years of experience as an RRT in an academic medical center setting

BLS certification required — must be from AHA or RQI
-
ACLS certification preferred — must be from AHA or RQI if held
-
Epic EMR experience required

Both pediatric and adult critical care skills are highly desirable
-
Emergency department experience is highly desirable
-
Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required
-
Active US SSN required — Canadian SIN is not accepted
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
-
Flu vaccination required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional are accepted — personal or religious declinations will not be accepted

Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders across a range of respiratory care modalities
-
Supervise respiratory therapy technicians as part of primary care responsibilities
-
Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain patient records, and operate respiratory equipment
-
Competency testing is required for ICU unit placements, with 2 attempts allowed to pass
-
Candidates must reside outside of the following counties to be eligible: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
