Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital in a short-term acute care setting.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital with 733 staffed beds, designated as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • RRT unit serving both adult and pediatric patients in an ICU setting
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage is required; only one holiday off can be approved per contract
  • Floating within the hospital or to a sister campus may be required based on facility needs
  • On-call is not required
  • Charting via Epic
  • Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
  • Minimum 2 years of RRT experience
  • Comfortable working with both adult and pediatric ICU patients
  • State or compact RRT license required; pending licensure not accepted — license required if applicable
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • SSN and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
  • Pre-start orientation modules are required (approximately 4–10 hours)
  • Any called-out shifts may require a makeup shift at the manager's discretion
  • RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days per contract; all RTO requests must be submitted upfront
  • Only one holiday off can be approved per contract period
  • Former travelers must have been away from this facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Night shift travelers may extend up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months before returning
  • Solid black or black-and-white scrubs required
  • Wear solid black or black and white scrubs
