Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Trauma Level 1 experience for a night shift position in an adult/geriatric acute care setting, requiring Epic proficiency and a broad range of critical care skills.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with a Respiratory Therapy unit serving adult and geriatric patients
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend work required
• Agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where qualifications and documented competencies apply
• Epic EMR used; minimum 1 year of experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RRT license in South Carolina required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
• Trauma Level 1 facility experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience
• Proficiency in adult critical care procedures including extubation, nasal/oral airway placement, suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
• Experience administering a broad range of inhaled medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, and Xopenex
• Experience delivering medications via aerosol mask, aerosol trach setup, Medihaler, and metered dose inhaler
• Experience with handheld, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Driver's license (DL) and Social Security Number (SSN) required for consideration
• Two professional references required for consideration
• License required if applicable

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this position; candidates under 50 miles are ineligible
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of booking and are subject to facility approval
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
