Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of adult ICU experience for a night shift travel contract in San Antonio, TX.

Details

• ICU-based respiratory therapy position at a 260-bed specialty and transplant hospital
• Patient acuity measured in points, with typical caseloads ranging from 30–45 points
• Equipment used includes GE860, Hamilton C1, Philips V60 ventilators, and EPOC
• EMR system is Meditech
• Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends required
• Floating may be required to ICU, PCU, ER, and floor units
• 8-week contract

Requirements

• NBRC certification required
• Active Texas Respiratory Care License required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of adult respiratory therapy experience
• Must have active experience within the last 6 months in the role being applied for
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Typical procedures include ABGs, bronchoscopy, and patient transport
• ICU experience with team leader background is the most sought-after skill set
• ER experience is preferred but not required
• Scrub dress code: black scrub pants and olive green scrub top
• First-time travelers are not excluded, but prior travel experience is a plus
