American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU and PICU experience for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in Houston, TX.

Cardiopulmonary unit (4th floor) at a women's hospital in Houston, TX
-
PICU and NICU patient population, including Level 3 NICU and pediatric critical care; adult-only experience is not sufficient

Patient ratio of 7:1
-
Equipment includes Crossvent, Airvo, Bunnell Jet, Drager VN500, Hamilton G5, Evolve Nitric Oxide, Pneuton, and Oscillator
-
Common procedures include intubations, surfactant administration, and delivery room support

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
13-week assignment
-
4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
-
Floating to Adult ICU, general floors, Level 2 NICU, Level 3 NICU, Level 4 NICU, PICU, and Peds units
-
Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty, with active experience within the past 6 months

Level 3 NICU or pediatric critical care experience required

Delivery room experience required

Required certifications: NRP (Advanced 9th Edition, from American Academy of Pediatrics), ACLS, PALS, and BLS (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)

PALS preferred if not already listed as required

Adult experience is a plus but not required
-
No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

Responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients, including bedside procedures in the NICU and PICU
-
Fast-paced environment requiring candidates who are quick learners and adaptable
-
Gray monogrammed scrubs required

Candidates must be clocked in and ready for report no later than 6:37 AM / 6:37 PM
