Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 2 years of critical care and emergency care experience for a 13-week day shift travel assignment at an acute-care hospital in Tallahassee, FL.

Details

  • 266-bed acute-care hospital with a full respiratory therapy department that rotates through all inpatient floors and two 10-bed ICUs
  • Procedures performed include aerosol treatments, BiPAP management, and ventilator management
  • Equipment includes Puritan Bennett 980 ventilators, Vapotherm, Philips V60+, and Siemens EPOC bedside ABG analyzers
  • Documents using Meditech EMR
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Minimum of three 12-hour shifts per week with rotating weekends
  • Rotating float throughout all inpatient units

Requirements

  • Active RRT license and certification required; FL license required if applicable
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with critical care and emergency care experience required
  • Must have active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP (AHA or ARC accepted; no certifications expiring within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
  • Two professional references required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

  • RTs rotate through all floors and both ICUs, working at the top of their licenses including performing intubations, arterial line insertions, and bedside bronchoscopy assists
  • The RT team participates in daily interdisciplinary nursing unit rounding and collaborates closely with multiple clinical disciplines
  • The respiratory therapy department consists of 30 experienced colleagues with varying levels of expertise
  • Patient experience standards include use of AIDET communication framework
  • Scrubs required
