American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Acute Dialysis position at a Level III trauma center, requiring independent hemodialysis operation skills and a minimum of 2 years of acute inpatient experience.

Dialysis unit within a 388-bed Level III trauma center with 4 dialysis bays
-
Patient population includes AKI, ESRD, fluid overload, electrolyte imbalance, sepsis, post-op, and critically ill ICU patients requiring intermittent dialysis
-
Average daily department volume of 8–13 patients

10-hour day shifts with a 0700 start time
-
40 hours per week
-
Potential every-other-weekend rotation

Shared on-call responsibilities; frequency determined by census and emergent dialysis needs

Floating to inpatient units in a helping-hands capacity when dialysis volume is low

EMR: Epic
-
Active WA or Compact RN license required
-
BLS required; ACLS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient dialysis experience preferred; a mix of inpatient and outpatient experience considered if the majority is inpatient

Independent operation of hemodialysis treatments required, including accessing AV fistulas and grafts, managing dialysis catheters, anticoagulation management, fluid removal, and hemodynamic monitoring

Ability to troubleshoot dialysis equipment alarms

Experience with TABLO dialysis machines preferred

No CRRT experience required

At least 2 professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) required prior to start; 1 reference accepted at time of consideration

First-time travelers considered only with 5+ years of dialysis nursing experience
