Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown Cardiac (ED Holding/CICU) position requiring a strong PCU background, Epic proficiency, and active NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Position is contracted to the ED unit, specifically to care for inpatient/CICU-level holds in the ED
• Patient population includes chest pain, syncope, heart failure, sepsis, overdose, GI bleed, COPD, pneumonia, and post-cath with stent (no CABG), ICD/pacer insertions, and cardioversions
• Overflow patients may include medical, surgical, trauma, oncology, and orthopedic cases
• Titration and management of drips required, including Lasix, Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Integrillin, Labetalol, Dopamine, and Dobutamine
• Specialized equipment includes BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm, Alaris Pumps, and Philips Monitoring System
• EMR: Epic — experience required
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NH or compact RN license required
• Current AHA or Red Cross certifications required: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of experience with a strong PCU background within the last year
• Epic EMR experience required
• ED experience preferred but not required
• Professional references required (candidates may begin with one reference pending)

Additional Information

• First-time travelers with Epic experience and at least 2 years of experience will be considered; first-time travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be considered
• EKG test required upon arrival
• Only AHA or Red Cross certifications are accepted — no other issuing bodies
• Candidates who have ever been a former employee at any SolutionHealth-affiliated facility are not eligible, regardless of length of separation or time worked
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
