American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital position in South Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of case management experience and an active FL or Compact RN license.

Acute care hospital setting, Case Management unit

Adult and geriatric patient population with a caseload of 25–30 patients per day on weekdays; weekend focus is on observation patients and facilitating safe discharges

5x8-hour day shifts, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday

Weekend requirement of 2–3 days per month (one full weekend every 4 weeks)

No on-call or holiday requirements

Hurricane coverage sign-up is required

EMR systems in use include Cerner Powerchart, CarePort (Allscripts), and Epic; experience with all is required
-
A separate remote UR team handles utilization reviews; the in-house CM team focuses on ensuring diagnostic tests, consults, labs, and procedures are necessary and completed in a timely manner

Active FL or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification via ARC or AHA required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Minimum 3 years of case management experience in an acute care hospital setting required

Consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital required

Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) with 2 years of recent acute care experience

Proficiency with Cerner Powerchart, CarePort (Allscripts), and Epic required

Familiarity with Medicare Conditions of Participation documentation required

Ability to work in a high-paced, high-volume environment required

Level 1 Trauma experience preferred

All certifications must be current at time of consideration

Oversee coordination of care for adult and geriatric patients, ensuring timely completion of diagnostics, consults, labs, and procedures in collaboration with the clinical team

Works alongside a separate remote utilization review team while maintaining in-house oversight of medical necessity

Vaccination documentation is required; declinations are not accepted

Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered for this position at a different rate than travel candidates

Pass/fail EKG and Basic Arrhythmia assessment may be required depending on assigned unit; a re-take opportunity is available if needed
