Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring at least 2 years of recent ED experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Emergency Department (ED) at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend (approximately 2 weekends per month) required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating is mandatory at the facility's discretion, including to other Cook County facilities up to 50 miles away — float assignments may be outside primary area of competency
• Charting via Cerner
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care ED experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Must reside within 75 miles of the facility

Additional Information

• Proof of COVID vaccination is required — no exceptions
• Scrubs may be any color and are not provided by the facility
• RTO is capped at 5 days total, with no more than 2 consecutive days; no RTO on weekends, holidays, or the day immediately before or after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred
• When floating outside primary competency, a team-based care model is used
