Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ED RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of large ED experience and prior travel assignment completion.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Emergency Room department
• 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715), 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week travel contract
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR experience is preferred but not required — on-site training is available

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• Minimum ADN or ASN degree required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS — BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of current experience in a large ED required
• Must have successfully completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• English fluency required (speak, read, write)

Additional Information

• Candidates must pass an on-site Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test administered on the first day of orientation — one retest is permitted, and a second failure will result in contract termination
• Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient care using the nursing process
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• Addresses patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care
• Former permanent staff of this health system must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
