Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a critical access hospital, requiring dual ED and Med-Surg capability with 2+ years of experience.

Details

  • Critical access hospital setting with an average daily census of 17-18 patients
  • Position requires working in both the Emergency Department and Med-Surg/Acute Care units
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • On-call requirement: 2 call shifts per month, covering 05:00–19:00 for either days or nights in the ED or Acute Care
  • Call shifts end at 19:00 if full staffing is confirmed
  • No floating requirement outside of the dual ED/Med-Surg expectation
  • Medication dispensing via Pyxis
  • Documentation via T-System

Requirements

  • Active CO or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Experience working in both Emergency Department and Med-Surg settings required
  • Critical access hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Must reside within a 1-hour radius of the facility to fulfill on-call obligations

Additional Information

  • Candidate will provide nursing care across both the ED and Acute Care/Med-Surg units as needed
  • Any requested time off must be approved by the manager prior to the assignment start
  • Scrubs of any color are acceptable
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
  • A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
