Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Minnesota, requiring ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC with a day/night rotating schedule.

Details

  • Acute care hospital ICU setting with 5 beds
  • Patient ratio of 2 patients per RN
  • Common diagnoses include stroke (TPN administration), STEMI, and non-STEMI patients
  • Administers critical care drips including Cardizem, Insulin, Propofol, Versed, and Vasopressors
  • Ventilator management using Hamilton C-1
  • EMR systems: Paragon Hospital and Allscripts TouchWorks
  • 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights, primarily nights with some days
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Floating to Med/Surg required
  • Telemetry/monitor techs available on unit
  • Nurse aides available as needed
  • Hospitalist in-house; no dedicated intensivist
  • RT available 24/7 (on-call with 10-minute response after 6pm)
  • Pharmacy in-house until 10pm, remote after 10pm
  • No IV team on unit

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, and TNCC
  • BSN not required
  • Allscripts or Paragon EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Floor-specific orientation consists of 1–2 shifts
  • Holiday coverage required — 7 major holidays are observed and will be worked into the schedule
  • RN scrub color is Royal Blue; CNA scrub color is Steel Gray
  • 13-week contract
