American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 14-week day shift contract requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and active GA or compact RN license.

ICU position within a hospital setting
-
Adult to geriatric patient population with diagnoses including ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GI bleeding, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, and ESRD on CRRT
-
Patient ratio of 1:2-3; travelers should be prepared to take a 3rd patient when needed

24-bed unit with an average daily census of 19

EMR: Epic (experience required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
-
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
-
No on-call requirements specified

Active GA or compact RN license required
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Navy blue scrubs required

RTO maximum of 7 days per assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two and may request one holiday off for approval

Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are accepted; the posted shift is firm

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
-
Full compliance is required prior to the start date; delays in compliance may result in a two-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
