American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience including 1 year of recent ICU specialty experience.

16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
-
Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Work 36 or 48 hours per week depending on assignment needs
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required as assigned

Floating to other units and hospital locations is required
-
EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)
-
Active AL RN license or Compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
-
No prior disciplinary hits on nursing license (past or current)
-
Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross), NIH Stroke Scale
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience (18 months may be considered); must include at least 1 year of recent MICU or ICU specialty experience

Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum

Nursys license verification required

Valid driver's license required

Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver complex critical care and achieve optimal patient outcomes

All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site competency test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting

A Cardiac Exam will be assigned following offer acceptance

No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
