Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) night shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience including 1 year of recent ICU specialty experience.

Details

  • 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Work 36 or 48 hours per week depending on assignment needs
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as assigned
  • Floating to other units and hospital locations is required
  • EMR: Meditech (experience preferred but not required)

Requirements

  • Active AL RN license or Compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
  • No prior disciplinary hits on nursing license (past or current)
  • Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross), NIH Stroke Scale
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience (18 months may be considered); must include at least 1 year of recent MICU or ICU specialty experience
  • Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required at minimum
  • Nursys license verification required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver complex critical care and achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • All ICU RNs are required to complete an on-site competency test in addition to an online pre-test prior to starting
  • A Cardiac Exam will be assigned following offer acceptance
  • No HealthStream modules required prior to start — competency-based modules are completed during virtual orientation
  • Timekeeping system: Centricity
  • Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same rates — no radius restriction
  • Solid navy scrubs required
