American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a quaternary care teaching hospital, requiring active NJ or Compact RN licensure and proficiency in moderate sedation and IR procedures.

Interventional Radiology unit within a 665-bed quaternary care teaching hospital that is part of a large integrated health system
-
High-acuity patient population including vascular, oncologic, cardiac, and transplant cases
-
Performs and assists with a wide range of IR procedures including TIPS, chemoembolization, liver biopsy/ablation, lung biopsy, pulmonary angiography/embolization, thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy, renal angiography/stent, and uterine arterial embolization

Vascular access responsibilities include PICC care, central line insertion/management, implanted ports, and IV therapy

Administers and monitors procedural/moderate sedation including end-tidal CO2 monitoring and use of reversal agents

Day shift: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00–17:30

Every other weekend required
-
On-call required every 3rd week, Monday through Sunday

Floating required within candidate's skillset without exception; ratios vary based on census, acuity, and staffing

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs

Active NJ or Compact RN license required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
-
Proficiency in PICC and midline insertion required
-
Experience circulating IR procedures required; procedural experience (OR/CVOR background) preferred
-
Cath Lab experience is a plus; ICU/CCU background without procedural experience is not sufficient

Experience with moderate/procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
-
Familiarity with radiation and laser safety protocols required

Epic EMR experience required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Two current professional references required for consideration

Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure patient care, circulating IR procedures, vascular access management, and sedation administration and monitoring

Former RWJBH employees (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
