Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery (Birth Center) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience, including 1 year in an LDRP setting, with night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a Birth Center unit within a hospital setting
• 20-bed unit including 12 L&D beds, 8 postpartum/antepartum beds (with 3 OB/ED rooms and 2 OR rooms), and a 6-bed Level II NICU
• Patient population includes laboring patients, antepartum patients, postpartum mothers and newborns, and C-section patients
• EMR: Epic experience required
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring
• Minimum 2 years of total L&D experience, with at least 1 year in an LDRP setting
• Proficiency in cervical exams, antepartum and labor care, amnioinfusions, epidural management, fetal monitoring, IV placement, and Pitocin administration
• Comfortable with all aspects of postpartum care from transition through discharge for both mother and baby
• Experience circulating C-sections required
• Baby catching/receiving experience required
• Knowledge of APGAR scoring and breastfeeding
• Scrub experience preferred
• At least one supervisor-level reference (Charge Nurse, Manager, or Director) required for consideration; a second reference will be needed prior to start

• Teal scrubs are provided by the facility
• NP is available on call for support
• Multilingual skills in Russian or Spanish are preferred given the patient population
