American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 5 years of experience, proficiency in Meditech, and a comprehensive skill set spanning antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care.

Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)

Labor & Delivery unit in a community hospital setting with fewer than 100 births per month
-
Unit encompasses Labor & Delivery, LDRP, Mother/Baby, Level I Nursery, and Antepartum care
-
Responsibilities include labor and delivery nursing, postpartum care, and obstetrical triage

Charting system: Meditech — experience strongly preferred
-
Travel pairs are accepted for this position

Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
-
Minimum 5 years of L&D nursing experience strongly preferred
-
Proficiency in fetal monitoring, including spiral electrode placement, external and internal fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement and calibration
-
Experience with L&D medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Prostaglandins, Terbutaline, antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, anticoagulation therapy, and insulin drips

Experience with C-section circulation and recovery, assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management

Proficiency in antepartum procedures including NST, sterile speculum and vaginal exams, triage, and EFM
-
Experience with postpartum care including couplet care, postpartum hemorrhage, pregnancy-induced hypertension, and cesarean recovery
-
Neonatal care skills including neonatal resuscitation, APGAR scoring, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and thermoregulation
-
IV therapy skills including starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, infusion pump management, and blood product administration

Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Preferred surgical case experience includes Cervical Cerclage, D&C, and Tubal Ligation
-
Preferred skills include breastfeeding/lactation support, baby-friendly protocols, and use of electric/manual breast pump
-
Newborn care responsibilities include circumcision assistance and post-op assessment, cord care, metabolic screening, hypoglycemia management, and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome care

Pain management experience with epidural anesthesia, general anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and pain assessment protocols is expected
-
Orientation includes non-billable modules averaging approximately 8 hours total (2–3 hours each)
