American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an LDRP position at an acute care facility in Minnesota, requiring L&D and Med-Surg/Peds experience with night shift availability and on-call responsibilities.

Acute care hospital LDRP unit with 4 L&D beds, 6 postpartum beds, and 1 dedicated triage bed
-
Patient population includes labor and delivery, postpartum, hyperbilirubinemia, preterm labor, and OB triage
-
C-sections are performed in the OR
-
AWHONN staffing ratios followed: 1:1 for induction, 1:2 for postpartum
-
RNs are required to titrate drips including Pitocin, cardiac drips, Heparin, and sedation medications
-
RT equipment on unit includes vents, CPAP, BiPap, high flow, and Airvo; RT is on call 24/7
-
RNs are responsible for reading their own telemetry strips; Philips monitors used
-
GE EFM system in use

Charting via Epic

Charge nurse is present on each shift and typically does not take a patient assignment

One nurse aide on days (6a–6:30p); HUC is trained to read tele

OB/Neonatologist and anesthesia are on call (not in-house 24/7)

12-hour night shifts, 7p–7:30a

Every third weekend required

Every third holiday required

On-call requirement with a 1-hour response time

Travelers are first to float; when OB census is low, nurses float to Med-Surg/Peds
-
No dress code — any scrub color is acceptable

Active MN RN license (state or compact) required and must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses not accepted

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP — all must be active; pending certifications not accepted

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

L&D experience required

Med-Surg/Peds experience required

Critical access hospital experience preferred

BSN not required

Epic EMR experience

Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (driver's license used to verify permanent address)

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Provide nursing care across labor and delivery, postpartum, triage, and when census is low, Med-Surg/Peds

Unit orientation consists of one 12-hour shift

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible — candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

All requested RTO must be submitted upfront; additional RTO will not be approved after consideration
