Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a House Supervisor role focused on risk management and patient safety, requiring a CA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of inpatient acute care experience.

Details

• House Supervisor role within an inpatient acute care hospital setting
• Primary focus on risk management, patient safety, and regulatory compliance functions
• Handles patient grievances, event reporting, and mortality chart reviews
• Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weekends are not typically required unless an on-site regulatory survey is in progress
• Floating between all facilities within California is expected

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care experience required (hard stop)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in Critical Care or ED is a plus
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of total employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting are required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include timely intake, investigation, documentation, and response to CMS-defined grievances
• Provides clinical oversight of event reporting, triage, and escalation
• Facilitates and monitors Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), including corrective action plans
• Supports regulatory inquiries, complaint investigations, and survey readiness
• Conducts mortality chart reviews as part of medical records review responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they meet the 2-year experience requirement
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Minimal RTO is expected for this position; requests should be disclosed prior to submission
• Refusal to float between facilities may result in assignment termination
