American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg - Urology/Nephrology travel position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.

Work setting is a 25-bed Medical Surgical Urology/Nephrology unit within a 562-bed acute care hospital

Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating required to other Med/Surg units within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
-
No on-call requirements
-
Average daily census of 23 patients
-
Charting system: Cerner (experience required)
-
Block scheduling will be accommodated when possible
-
Local candidates are accepted with no radius requirement
-
Active IL RN license required; must be in hand or actively in the application process
-
Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
-
Med/Surg and telemetry work setting experience required
-
Cerner EMR experience required
-
Remote telemetry monitoring and Rapid Response Team experience required
-
Genitourinary/renal experience required, including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure
-
IV therapy skills required: blood product administration, central line blood draw, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and starting IVs
-
Heparin administration experience required
-
Respiratory skills required: chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen
-
Experience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac required

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Charge nurse duties will be assigned as needed throughout this assignment

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
-
RTO requests ideally should not exceed 5 days for the contract; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
-
Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

Travel pairs are not accepted

Any solid color scrubs are acceptable
