American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Transitional Care Unit (TCU) position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license.

Transitional Care Unit (TCU) in a hospital setting
-
32-bed TCU unit serving adult med/surg patients
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 (RN) with aide support at 1:6 during days and 1:8 during nights

Variable shifts with varying shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
-
36 hours per week scheduled (after the first full week of orientation)

Equipment used includes Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding, NG/G-tubes, trach care, and PICC/PORT

Meditech EMR in use
-
Floating may be required to Med/Surg and Surgical Peds units
-
Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment — candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Proficiency with wound vac, chest tubes, tube feeding, NG/G-tubes, trach care, and PICC/PORT

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of assignment — plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend the Friday morning Employee Health appointment

Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption is required prior to contract start — flu vaccination may be administered at the Employee Health clearance appointment

Orientation is provided for the unit prior to beginning scheduled shifts

Professional nursing attire is required
