Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring night shift availability, Level II Trauma experience, and an active Alabama RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit
  • Adult and geriatric patient population
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
  • Required skills include IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac management
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with an option for 4x12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Floating required
  • Charge nurse responsibilities may be required on an as-needed basis
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active Alabama RN license or compact license recognized in Alabama currently in hand
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Fit test required
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
  • Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • Proficiency with IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac

Additional Information

  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered, though a reduced local pay rate applies
  • Schedules cannot be adjusted once the contract is confirmed — all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of confirmation, as no RTO will be approved after that point
  • Scheduling accommodations around other per diem schedules or contracts are not available
  • A 30-minute meal break is required per shift — skipped meals are not permitted
