American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position requiring night shift availability, Level II Trauma experience, and an active Alabama RN license.

Hospital-based Medical Surgical unit

Adult and geriatric patient population

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6

Required skills include IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac management

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with an option for 4x12-hour shifts

Every other weekend (EOW) required

Floating required
-
Charge nurse responsibilities may be required on an as-needed basis

13-week contract

Active Alabama RN license or compact license recognized in Alabama currently in hand

Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Fit test required

NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred

Level II Trauma experience preferred

Travel nursing experience preferred

Proficiency with IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vac

Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered, though a reduced local pay rate applies

Schedules cannot be adjusted once the contract is confirmed — all RTO requests must be submitted at the time of confirmation, as no RTO will be approved after that point

Scheduling accommodations around other per diem schedules or contracts are not available
-
A 30-minute meal break is required per shift — skipped meals are not permitted
