Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a General Surgery Clinic position in Rapid City, SD, requiring a minimum of 1.5 years of RN experience and a South Dakota or Compact RN license.

Details

• Outpatient clinic setting within a General Surgery unit
• Patient population includes those scheduled for general surgery, trauma, and bariatric procedures
• Responsibilities include procedure scheduling, triage of referrals, phone-based encounters, and MyChart inquiry management
• Charting system: Epic
• 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license — South Dakota or Compact license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
• Previous General Surgery and Bariatrics experience preferred; acute care Med/Surg experience also considered
• ICU and/or ED background is a plus
• Strong communication, care coordination, and customer service skills
• Proficiency in clinical tasks including vital signs, rooming documentation, patient education, scheduling, and provider exam assistance
• 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Daily duties include rooming patients, documenting, educating patients on surgical procedures and pathways, scheduling, and assisting providers with exams
• Works closely with a multidisciplinary team including a nursing supervisor, clinic nurses, and medical assistants
• Orientation provided by the nurse supervisor and clinic nurse
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking available on-site
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Time off requests require manager approval
