Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position at a 250-bed academic community hospital in Danville, VA, requiring 2+ years of Med/Surg experience and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit (Floor 5A) in a 250-bed academic community hospital
• Night shift schedule: 7P–7A
• 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• Patient population serves all ages
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• 24-bed unit
• EMR: Meditech
• Every other weekend required, with additional weekend hours as needed
• Floating required as needed
• On-call required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in Virginia (VA state license or compact license) required
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, Handling with Care (HWC), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel rate

Additional Information

• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Tuesdays
• Consent to random on-site drug screening and completion of a Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form required
• All required certifications must be in hand prior to start
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
• The facility is a designated Chest Pain Center and Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center accredited by the ACC and ACS
