American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at an academic health system in Indiana, with a focus on surgical specialties and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience required.

31-bed Med/Surg unit with a concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery
-
Patient population includes general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery cases
-
Required experience with bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
-
Patient ratio of 1:6
-
Day shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
-
Floating required within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby

Charting performed in Cerner (experience required)

Local candidates are not accepted for this Med/Surg position

Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience with voiding trials and/or urogyn surgeries is a key consideration
-
Experience with bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and CBI required

Cerner EMR charting experience required

Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required

Candidates must be available to cover 2 out of 3 major holidays

Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved for this assignment

Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

Indiana-licensed RNs are not permitted to work at this facility's Med/Surg unit per a facility policy in effect since 11/30/2024 — a Compact license held by a non-Indiana resident is acceptable
