American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position specializing in post-operative colorectal surgery care, with a minimum of 18 months of experience and Cerner EMR proficiency required.

Work is performed on a Medical-Surgical unit (3 North) specializing in post-operative care of colorectal surgery patients
-
Unit cares for patients requiring negative-airflow rooms; candidates must be fit-tested for an N95 mask or trained on PAPR device use
-
Patient ratio is 1:5–6

Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM

Travelers are expected to work every other weekend, with the possibility of consecutive weekends based on operational needs

Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed, with training and resources provided
-
Floating may be required to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Cerner EMR experience required

Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand

Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required

Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)

Minimum 18 months to 2 years of RN experience required

Level 1 Trauma experience preferred

Cerner EMR experience required

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved automatically

Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler

If a contracted shift is missed, the shift must be made up within the pay period or will be added to the end of the contract
