American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Flex Pool position in Hawaii, floating across medical and surgical units, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active HI RN license.

Flex Pool RN role rotating across multiple units including a Medical Unit (77 beds), a Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and a Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)

Patient population includes adult medical and surgical patients, with occasional cardiovascular cases

Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/eves) or 1:8 (nights), Surgical Acute 1:6, and Cardiovascular 1:4; ratios may vary due to unexpected staffing changes

Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes

12-hour day shifts (0645–1915), scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation

Floating is a core expectation of this role, with regular rotation across the Medical, Surgical Acute, and Cardiovascular units

Active HI RN license required and must be in hand by the assignment start date

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Required certifications: BLS and ACLS

Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC

Experience with adult medical-surgical and/or step-down patient populations

Familiarity with chest tube and wound vac management preferred

Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
-
All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours before the assignment start date; plan to arrive in Hawaii by the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment

Documented proof of immunity is required; medical and religious exemption requests will not be accepted in lieu of documentation

Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required

HI RN license applications should be initiated immediately upon offer acceptance if not already in hand
