Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of recent specialty experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting at a large Level I Trauma Center
  • Medical Surgical unit with a team nursing model; patient ratios are approximately 1:7 with support from PCCs and other RNs
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • On-call required as needed
  • Weekend work required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Tennessee (TN) or a Compact (NLC) state — no pending licensure accepted
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible unless they have 3+ years of recent experience
  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Large hospital experience required
  • ADN or higher education level accepted for this position
  • Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; RTO cannot be added after an offer has been made
  • If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
  • Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Vaccination status must be provided
