Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Ambulatory Oncology Infusion position at a major academic medical center, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and oncology infusion/chemotherapy administration skills.

Details

• Ambulatory oncology infusion center setting within an academic medical center (School of Medicine)
• Fast-paced infusion center focused on patient-centered oncology care
• Patient population includes those receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and immunotherapy infusions
• Skills performed include medication and chemo/biotherapy administration, peripheral IV insertion, peripheral blood draws, and central line access/maintenance/de-access
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (10-hour shifts) or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts), with scheduling flexibility between 4x10 or 5x8 configurations
• Monday through Friday schedule
• No call, no weekends, no holidays
• Epic EMR experience preferred, including Epic's Beacon oncology ordering system

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Oncology infusion experience required
• Strong proficiency in IV insertion and ambulatory oncology chemotherapy administration required
• Chemo/bio/immunotherapy provider card required
• ACLS and AED certification preferred
• Epic/Beacon EMR experience preferred
• Ambulatory care setting experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with a comparable large facility (500+ beds) preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required for consideration

• RNs will continuously monitor patients throughout infusion treatments and intervene rapidly in emergent situations
• Responsibilities include thorough patient assessment across a variety of medical conditions and ongoing patient education
• The infusion center provides a relaxed, supportive environment designed for patient-focused care
