American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring chemotherapy administration skills and an active IL RN license.

Oncology unit in a 562-bed acute care hospital designated as both a Level I Trauma Center and a Magnet facility
-
Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:15 AM – 6:45 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals is required for all travelers
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Charting via Cerner
-
Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Schedule change requests can be discussed with the manager
-
Active IL RN license required; must be in hand or in active application process
-
Active BLS required; AHA or Red Cross accepted (RQI AHA cards not accepted)

Chemo certification preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Chemotherapy skills required: administration (IV push, continuous infusion, oral), body fluid handling post-chemo, monitoring, cytotoxic spill management/disposal, and recognizing/communicating abnormal lab values

IV therapy/infusion skills required: port access and care, central line blood draw and care, PICC line care, starting IVs, blood/blood product administration, administration of coagulation factors, antifungals, and antivirals

SSN and DOB required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

RTO is ideally no more than 5 days per contract; requests beyond 5 days require facility approval

Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler

Travel pairs are not accepted

Scrubs may be any solid color
