Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Oncology position in Sioux City, IA, requiring 2+ years of med/surg or oncology experience and proficiency with high-acuity drip management.

Details

• Work on a Surgical/Oncology unit (4A) in an acute care hospital setting
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Oncology and post-surgical patient population requiring high-acuity care
• Administers drips including Heparin, PCA, and epidural; chemotherapy administration if certified
• EMR: Epic
• Every other weekend required, including holiday rotation if scheduled
• Floating within the same discipline across local campuses may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS (may be obtained prior to start)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and/or Oncology RN experience required
• Experience administering Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• High-acuity care experience preferred
• One supervisory reference required for consideration
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates

• Contribute clinical knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary care team
• Travelers who were employed by this facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for consideration
• Travelers are expected to work 2 of the 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• Time-off requests are limited to 1 day during the Thanksgiving and winter holiday windows
