American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) position at a long-term care (LTC) facility, requiring an active IL RN license and IV certification prior to start.

Skilled Nursing and Rehab units within a long-term care (LTC) facility, functioning similarly to a Med/Surg environment
-
Patient population includes dementia and post-surgical residents receiving specialized medical and rehabilitation care
-
Patient ratio of up to 20 residents per nurse, with an average daily census of 72
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required upon request of the facility

No on-call requirements

Charting via PowerChart; PowerChart experience is preferred
-
Free parking available on-site

Active IL RN license required (must be in hand at time of consideration)

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and IV Certification (IV Cert must be obtained prior to start)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Strong Med/Surg and acute care experience is helpful but not required

Dementia care training or experience is highly recommended

Excellent customer service skills are essential

Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible

Responsibilities include providing primary care, IV medication administration, and wound care to dementia and post-surgical residents

Works closely with CNAs and HCAs as part of the care team

Lifting equipment is used; comfort with specialized lifting equipment is expected

Scrub color requirement: any shade of blue

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler

Travelers may work up to 18 months consecutively, after which a 3-month break is required

RTO must be requested and approved at the time of submission; RTO will not be approved after an offer is extended
-
No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
-
Cannot take every holiday off — holiday coverage is expected

Call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours advance notice
