American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a 32-bed Surgical ACE unit at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring documented med/tele experience and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, high-pressure environment.

32-bed Surgical ACE unit (5A) in an adult and older adult inpatient setting

High-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center handling complex, high-volume, and diverse cases
-
Patient population includes trauma patients, older adults, and patients requiring acute medication management including Heparin drips
-
Patient ratio of 1:5
-
Specialty equipment includes gait belts, geriatric chairs, and PT equipment

Epic EMR is used
-
Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 4 shifts per week
-
No on-call requirements
-
Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Block scheduling is generally not approved

Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Documented Med/Surg Telemetry experience required, supported by a matching skills checklist

Experience in high-acuity, high-volume, large-scale trauma environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Experience managing critical, fast-paced clinical situations required

GA or Compact RN license must be currently in hand

Active certifications must be included for consideration

Administer and monitor acute medications including Heparin drips as ordered

Prior NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) training is a plus

Skilled nursing, rehab, or geriatric care background is a plus

Epic EMR experience is expected given its use on the unit

No RTO (time off requests) will be approved for this contract
