American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Oncology/Telemetry (MS/Tele) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and telemetry skills, with oncology experience preferred.

Inpatient medical oncology/telemetry unit within a cancer hospital and research setting

Cares for adult and geriatric patients across all solid tumor cancer types, including breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy

Unit supports patients throughout the full cancer journey, from new diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life transition

Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and fall prevention

Patient ratio goal is 1:4, but may be 1:5 based on unit needs

Night shift position with rotating 12-hour shifts (3x12), 19:00–07:30

Weekend requirements vary based on unit needs with no set or blocked scheduling

Shift assignments are assessed on a 4-week scheduling cycle; if on a day/night rotating contract, shifts may be nights or a mix based on department priorities

Charting performed in Epic (experience required)

Floating required to other Med/Surg Oncology units

Active RN license in Ohio or a Compact RN license currently in hand

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Current BLS certification required

Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required

ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred

Orientation begins with the first week on Monday–Friday day shifts, followed by a second week of 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor

Self-scheduling requests are submitted by the traveler prior to the final schedule being balanced and posted
-
No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (does not apply to Sterile Processing Technicians)

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration

A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
