Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry Oncology position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent oncology or specialty experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• 16-bed inpatient Oncology Unit in a hospital setting, dedicated to patients with a variety of cancer diagnoses
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Specializes in the administration of chemotherapy to oncology patients
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as assigned
• Floating to other units and hospitals required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
• No prior license hits (past or current) permitted
• Current BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted)
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in the applicable specialty
• NURSYS license verification required for consideration
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

• Newly reopened unit focused on providing specialized, compassionate oncology nursing care
• Virtual orientation will include competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
• Solid navy scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• A cardiac exam will be administered after offer acceptance
