American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Resource Team position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Tele experience and working 12-hour night shifts.

874-bed Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center

Resource Team position floating within Region 3, covering Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) facilities

Unit specializes in Head/Neck and GI surgeries including tracheostomies, laryngectomies, hernia repairs, colo-rectal surgery, cholecystectomies, appendectomies, ostomy takedowns, and medical overflow

RN-to-patient ratio of 1:4–6, with potential surge ratios up to 1:7–8

12-hour night shifts, 1900–0700, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

No on-call or call-back requirements for travelers

EMR: Epic (experience required)

IV pumps: Alaris; medication dispensing: Omnicell; monitors: Philips

Required skills include cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, trach care, chest tube management, NGT/Dobhoff/PEG tube placement, drain management (Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals), PIV starts, foley insertion/management, and PCA pump management
-
Medication drip management required, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF

Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
-
General Med/Tele skillset required, including telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation (no monitoring tech on unit — nurses read monitors independently)

Epic EMR experience required

Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
-
Department support includes CNAs, a Receptionist/HUC, 24/7 charge nurse, phlebotomy (peripheral draws only), IV/VAT team, resource nurse (as available), and 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
-
Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays

Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved per contract, excluding holidays

Navy scrubs required

Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the assigned home unit; local candidates are not accepted

Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
