American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medicine Step Down unit position requiring at least one year of Med/Surg and Step Down experience, with Level 1 trauma experience required and charge experience preferred.

Position is based in a hospital Medicine Step Down unit

Patient population includes a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex

Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Med/Surg and Step Down experience required; Level 1 trauma experience required

Charge nurse experience preferred
-
13-week contract

Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required (AHA-issued certifications only)

Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required

Med/Surg and Step Down unit experience required

Level 1 trauma experience required

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred

Travel nursing experience preferred

Strong organizational, communication, and patient care coordination skills

Basic computer skills required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Responsibilities include managing an assigned patient group, documenting patient responses to nursing interventions, administering medications, monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and assisting physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures

Interacts with patients and families to communicate care plans, hospital procedures, and discharge instructions; makes appropriate referrals and delegates tasks to support staff

Travel experience is preferred for this role

Candidates who have previously worked at this facility are eligible to apply but may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation period is required before being eligible for an additional contract
