Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level III Trauma teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and active Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Short-term acute care hospital setting with 733 staffed beds, operating as a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • Med/Surg Telemetry unit with night shift schedule (7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts)
  • Patient ratio of 1:5–6
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within the hospital or to a sister campus depending on assignment
  • No on-call required

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required — pending license not accepted
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • 13-week contract (nights)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Royal blue and white scrubs required
  • RTO is capped at 4 days per contract, with approval of no more than 1 holiday
  • Travelers may extend up to twice on night shift; after reaching the extension limit, a 6-month gap is required before reapplying
  • Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Pre-start online modules required (estimated 4–10 hours, non-paid)
