Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a Renal unit in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 36-bed inpatient Renal unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Cares for patients with acute and chronic kidney disease, including those requiring renal replacement therapy
• Specializes in post-hemodialysis care and ongoing peritoneal dialysis management
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 36- or 48-hour work week available
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Floating to other units and hospitals is required
• EMR: Meditech (experience not required)

Requirements

• Active AL state or compact RN license required — no temporary or pending licenses accepted
• No hits (past or current) on license allowed per NURSYS verification
• AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS certification required
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; candidates with 18 months may be considered if experience was under the highest level of professional license
• At least 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry or Renal nursing required
• Current driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

• Supports patients across the full care continuum, from diagnosis through treatment and beyond
• Virtual orientation will include competency-based modules — no pre-start HealthStream modules required
• Timekeeping system: Centricity
• Solid navy scrubs required
