American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Wound/Ostomy Care position requiring WOCN or CWCN certification and proficiency in acute/critical care settings.

Day shift schedule, 5x7.5-hour shifts (7:00–15:00)

Work in a hospital wound care unit, with patient coverage extending into the ICU
-
Patient population includes those with pressure injuries, as well as critically ill patients such as open heart surgery, heart and lung transplant cases
-
Primary focus on pressure injury assessment, management, treatment, and prevention across the facility

Charting via Epic
-
End-of-shift flexibility required based on documentation needs, admits/discharges, and staffing

Active NJ or Compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, and either WOCN (Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse) or CWCN (Certified Wound Care Nurse)

Proficiency in pressure injury assessment, staging, documentation, and treatment required

Proficiency in the acute care and critical care setting required

Two current professional references required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities include validating pressure injury staging, assessments, documentation, and treatments in collaboration with patients' primary nurses and/or educators

Required to maintain an Excel spreadsheet tracking key pressure injury metrics per patient (e.g., staging, hospital-acquired vs. present on admission)

Highest priority is identifying opportunities to reduce and prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries
-
This role does not involve a traditional patient handoff — schedule flexibility at end of shift is expected

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers

Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
